A mural for ” La Maison Andréa Pomerleau ” !
In the Matane area, peoples had probably heard about the new ADHG ( gaspesian handicaped peoples association ) building construction, the ” Andréa Pomerleau House “. The building will houses the activities and training center, also the administrative services of the ADHG, on St-Joseph street in Matane.
Fallowing the invitation of the Matane Liberal ex-deputy at the ” Assemblée Nationale du Québec “, Madam Nancy Charest and the financial support of “La poissonnerie Boréalis” of Matane, i will have the great pleasure of creating an interior mural in the major room of the building. The conception part of the project is started and i might initiate the painting work in january. I will open a gallery on this site for you to fallow the work in progress, trying to add pics everydays.

A small painting that makes his way through history
I am known to take many hours to complete my paintings. In 2004 I made a very small painting inspired by the famous black and white “yawn” on the 1971 Frank Zappa album “Chunga’s Revenge” for myself, but in full color. I offered it to a European buddy as he is a large collector and admirer of Zappa’s work and founder member of the premiere Zappa internet site www.zappateers.com. He loved it and we exchanged by post.

The following year, the Zappateers community presented the 1st international festival Zappateers at Ancona, in Italy. This festival was dedicated to the music of Frank Zappa and presented four European orchestras playing the music of maestro Zappa. One made me the request to use the portrait in own way of poster for the festival, which I accepted right ago. It is a buddy, Angelo Catignani, which with taken charges the design of the poster. He did a remarkable work and small painting passed to the history. Here’s the poster pic …

At the end of 2006, the Italian classical group Harmonia Ensemble, were to perform in Mexico City and I was asked for my permission to use the painting for concert publicity. The following week I was asked permission to use the portrait for the cover of their re-launched 1994 CD ‘Harmonia Ensemble meets Zappa’ .Harmonia Ensemble used the concert to re-issue their album for the Latin market at the beginning of 2007.
